Sanshin

Three strings instrument

The people of Okinawa have always had a deep love for the sanshin.

The various anecdotes that have been passed down to this day suggest that Sanshin holds a special place in Okinawan culture, far beyond its value as a musical instrument.

It is used in a variety of musical scenes, including traditional performing arts such as Ryukyu buyo and Eisa, as well as in folk songs and pop music. Its simple yet captivating sound continues to enchant many people.
