Ryukyu buyo
Ryukyu traditional dance
Ryukyu dance, a traditional Okinawan performing art, is a distinctive form of dance that has been artistically refined within the history and traditions of the Ryukyu Kingdom and Okinawa Prefecture. It has been designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Property of Japan. From the elegant dances created during the kingdom era to entertain envoys from other countries, to the more widely popularized styles developed after the war, Ryukyu dance continues to be performed in a variety of settings today.
The gorgeous and beatiful Ryukyuan kimono was born from the refined aesthetic sense of the Ryukyu Kingdom period, and still continue to fascinate many people today. Take a photo with the models and make unforgettable memories at IVN!
